Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail

Apparently the village of Kuranda is worth a visit… well the trip to go there with the train and then back with the gondolas definitively is. The village itself is a tourist trap and the Koala Gardens could not remedy this. So back to the train that goes up into the mountains that are covered by the rainforest. It took 5 years to build and ‘only’ 32 men died. The route features some impressive engineering works: tunnels, bridges, and trenches.
The gondolas that are travelling above the rainforest are within a national park, so to avoid disturbing the forest too much, they brought the pylons by helicopter.
